Janice Kovach was first sworn in as mayor of Clinton in January 2012. Between 2006 and 2010, she served as the director of the New Jersey Division on Women. Prior to that she was a councilwoman in the Town of Clinton, serving as the planning board liaison and as chairwoman of the Council on Affordable Housing committee. From 2004 to 2010 she served on the Highlands Water Protection and Planning Council. She has served on the board of Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey and the Women’s Heart Foundation. She continues to serve as a member of the United Way Women’s Leadership Council, and as chairwoman and executive board member of the education and training committee of the New Jersey Women’s Political Caucus.
