Small- to medium-size cities face the same expensive, complex infrastructure challenges as large metropolitan areas, but with far fewer resources. Three New Jersey cities have been applying a new approach — designing integrated projects that address multiple community priorities, such as flooding, traffic calming, and storm surge — and leveraging non-traditional funding. Speakers will describe the major infrastructure challenges they submitted to New Jersey Future’s Building Infrastructure Green (BIG) design competition and their path to advancing innovative, financeable infrastructure projects.
